"Road to the mountains"
Day 1: Kathmandu - Lukla 2858m - 2640m PakdingLands. At the end of August in Lukla not especially with the weather - clouds, begin to drizzle in the afternoon. But we do not despair, the closer to Everest, the lower the cloud should be, in addition to Everest 8 more days of travel, and munsun already coming to an end, so the weather should only improve. On the first day we go to Pakdinga, only a three-hour course on the edge of a very nice and green valley. Nothing particularly interesting. Mountain we decide to open slowly and with deliberation.Day 2. Pakding 2640m - 3547m Namche BazaarWe start about seven to ispolzvat remaining six hours before the rain (rain schedule begins each day in one or two hours) to complete. The final destination of the day - Namche Bazar, the biggest village of Khumbu region (in 2002 there were 200 houses, many now - do not know, but obviously builders thrive here). Until the 50s the village lived by passage through a neighboring village Tamo trading road with Tibet (Tibet - salt, wool carpets and dogs in Tibet - iron, grain, potatoes, paper and fabric from the south). In the late 50's trade faded because of the occupation of Tibet by China, but instead heaven sent Sherpas new source of income - climbers and trekkers, who had to be fed, warm and drive to the mountains. On the way to Namche we pass numerous villages.
